OUR MISSION:
EARLY DETECTION TO BREAST HEALTH SO WOMEN CAN LIVE LONGER!
Â

The DeCaul Foundation

When cancer struck twice, in late 2018, my son Bryan DeCaul was diagnosed with stage four testicular germ cancer after experiencing stubborn flu-like symptoms. As his caregiver, I watched him dream about his future and fight for three years, undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Then, five months before he died, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.
It was October (Breast Cancer Awareness Month), and mammogram exams were discounted at $35. When I arrived for the appointment, the receptionist informed me that the cost was actually $400. Needless to say, I didn't have the money. I left the doctor's office feeling discouraged and hopeless, not knowing when I would be able to afford the exam. I shared my story with my Pastor & a friend, and within a couple of hours, they sent me $400 via Cash App to complete the mammogram. After receiving the $400 for the exam, along with additional tests, the doctor informed me that I had stage four breast cancer.
Early detection saved my life and can save the lives of many women. The DeCaul Foundation believes early detection can make a significant difference in the treatment and survival rates of breast cancer. When caught early, the chances of successful treatment are much higher. This means more mothers, daughters, sisters, and friends can continue to lead healthy lives.
The DeCaul Foundation's mission is to ensure every woman can access early detection. Even though cancer hit our family with a devastating blow, in honor of our son and a friend giving me $400, we fight back by paying life forward in support of early detection for women who need it most. Your contribution, sponsorship, or donation will help provide mammograms and other essential screenings to those who cannot afford them.

Many women face barriers to early detection, such as financial challenges, lack of insurance, and fear of visiting a doctor. Your generous contribution helps us break down these barriers, giving women the opportunity for early detection and, ultimately, a better chance of survival.
